Phase 2 Complete


The second phase of the plan for Bread Winner has been completed. A full rework of level 1 and an additional level, level 3, has been implemented and achieved. Below is a list of things that have been removed/changed, or are new within the game:

  • Tutorial text changed to an easier to read font
  • There are now animated UI Arrows to guide the player (Level 1 & 2)
  • Level 1, section 2 rework (Enemy)
  • Level 1, section 3 rework (Boss)
  • Level 1, section 4 rework (Boss)
  • Level 3 added
  • Player can now jump through and drop down from platforms
  • Level 2 potions drop at a faster interval
  • Player can now pause the game in between levels
  • Removed character customization screen

The game is now going into its third phase of planning. The plan for phase three is a major overhaul of the story, the way cutscenes are handled, and how the levels are connected. Phase 2 established the ability for the player to select a mission/chapter to play, each mission/chapter is going to consist of 2 levels (right now there is only one mission). Phase 3 will split the three current levels into 2 groups, level 1 will go in mission 1 along with a new level, and levels 2 and 3 will go in mission 2. Lastly, 2 more levels will be made for mission/chapter 3. That will conclude phase 3 and at that time a decision will be made as to whether or not we will continue to develop the game beyond that point.
